Obituary of Margaret "Peggy" Joy Raymond

"Everyone who knew Peggy, loved Peggy."Peggy Raymond had a beautiful, sweet soul that everyone recognized instantly the moment they met her. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.Peggy was born in El Paso, Texas, and though she lived in Texas, Missouri, Georgia, Washington State, California, and Alaska, she loved Colorado best. She found inspiration from Pikes Peak and often called it "my mountain." She often expressed wonderment over the mountains in Colorado, because, as she said, "they just go on and on and on."Peggy had a boom of a laugh, a chortle that brought peals of laughter from anyone who heard it. She loved to laugh, loved life, and loved her White Zinfandel (with ice). She was a huge animal lover, spoiling several of her own dogs and cats over the years, but also the pets of her children. Her kind heart wouldn't even allow her to kill an insect – she'd carry spiders and beetles and other insects outside and not allow anyone to kill them while she was around.Peggy retired as head administrative assistant in the physics department at the Air Force Academy. She loved her job, the professors, and the students, often calling them "officers and gentlemen," later amending it to "gentlemen and women" once women were admitted. She loved the movies and spent most Sundays with her niece Patti Kirk at the cinemas. The two were thick as thieves and best friends. She was proceeded in death by her father, Jesus Rodriguez, mother, Grace Rodriguez, brother, William Rodriguez, sister Terry Reynolds, brother-in-law William Reynolds, sister-in-law Annie Rodriguez, and brother-in-law Joe Silva. She is survived by her children, Bruce Stagg, Michael Stagg (wife Anita), Cheryl Jenkins, Joanne Weaver (husband Rick), and Danny Raymond (wife Cindy); her brothers and sisters, Johnny Rodriguez, Joanne Silva, David Rodriguez (wife Pat); and her grandchildren Melissa Deen (husband Norman), Ricky Weaver (wife Justine), Jesse Weaver (wife Kelsey), and Anthony Stagg. She just missed being able to meet her first great-grandchild, the son of Jesse and Kelsey Weaver who's scheduled to join us in late March. She would have found such joy in her great-grandson because she cherished babies and they loved her.Memorial Service will be on March 12th at 4:00 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Please come help us celebrate her life.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909 Events Service Saturday, March 12, 2016 4:00PM The Springs Funeral Services 3115 East Platte Avenue Colorado Springs, CO 80909 Phone: 719-207-8855
