Obituary of Marcia Erin

Marcia (Roach) Erin, 64, passed away at her home on April 2, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on July 9, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois to Harold and Lucille Roach. Marcia grew up in Deerfield, Illinois and attended Regina Dominican High School. She graduated from The University of Illinois in 1973 with a degree in English, where she met Rod Erin. Rod and Marcia were married at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Deerfield. They lived in Dallas, Munich, St. Louis and Colorado Springs, having two kids and many adventures along they way. Colorado Springs has been their beloved hometown for the last three decades. Marcia was always involved in community service, volunteering regularly at Cheyenne Mountain Elementary School when her children were in school, and later with the National Charity League, Silver Key Senior Services and St. Paul Catholic Church. She loved tennis and enjoyed spending time outdoors: hiking, snowshoeing and bicycling. She also loved to travel, most recently taking trips with Rod to Australia and Alaska. But she'll always be remembered for her favorite hobby–spending time listening, talking, laughing and brightening the spirits of the family and friends she cared about so deeply.Marcia is survived by her husband, Rod; and their two children, Jeffrey Erin and Julie (Erin) Rubash. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister.
