Obituary of Daniel Carl Johnson

Daniel Carl Johnson, age 61, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 at a local hospice following a brief illness. He was a loving husband, father, devoted son, brother, uncle and grandfather.Daniel was born on January 24, 1955 in Colorado Springs to Carl and Ellen (Tipton) Johnson. He attended school in Ellicott and was married at an early age to Chris Lewis. He then started a family and became a consummate car salesman to support them, a trade which he grew to love and continued for many years, in Colorado Springs and several other states. Dan loved working on cars, helping others work on cars, and motorcycles. He always took pride in his vehicles and tools, keeping them in tip-top condition. He will be best remembered for his love of family, his warmth, friendliness and quirky sense of humor. He loved time spent with his family, most especially with his dad, Carl, and Grandpa Johnson, to whom he was lovingly known as "Boone". Daniel married Rebecca May Wright on February 26, 2005 in Yuma, Arizona. They returned home to Colorado where their love and support of each other flourished and they were able to be of assistance to their ailing parents. He is survived by his wife Rebecca, of Colorado Springs, his mother, Ellen Johnson, his son, Nick Johnson, daughter Kimberly James, stepson John Hee, Jr., sisters Vicky Sanger and Penny (and brother-in-law Joseph) Kondrup, four wonderful grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
