Obituary of Douglas Harry Williams
Douglas (Doug) Harry Williams, 57, entered into rest on May 5, 2016 after struggling with health issues for many years. Doug was born on March 7, 1959, to James Decker Williams, Sr. and Reba Chew (McLaughlin) Williams in Castro Valley, Alameda County, California. He lived in Sunnyvale on the family horse ranch for several years. In the mid-1970's, at about the age of 15, his family relocated to Lincoln, California. Doug graduated from Lincoln High School, Lincoln, California, in 1977. After high school he worked in the oil fields near Bakersfield for a number of years. He quit that job to move back to the Lincoln where he grew up. He took a job working in the Placer County area primarily as an underground crew leader for a local cable company. He married Sharon Moran on July 8, 2000. In 2005 they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where they bought 40 acres so Doug was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of owning horses. They lived there until his recent passing. Before moving to Colorado, Doug had a BBQ catering business on the side. His last catering job was to cook for Ronnie Montrose's (great American guitarist and song writer) wedding in 2005.He had a great love for animals, and they loved him, especially rescue animals. The last fifteen years of his life he rescued many animals and most recently three dogs and two horses, who became like family members to him. He was a patriotic American who loved his country and the ability to live in the spirit of a true cowboy. Douglas was a loving husband, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, with a very big heart. He is survived by his wife, Sharon M. Williams; a brother, James D. Williams, Jr; a sister, Dolores (Kenny) Bickford; a nephew, Devin Williams; and his two nieces, Dannan and Brandy Stamper, as well as cousin's Bonnie, Terry, Jay and Peggy (Williams).
