Obituary of Daniel Wayne Boston

Dan Boston was born July 31, 1956 to Benny and D'etta Boston in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He attended Coronado High School and graduated in 1974. As a young adult, he studied martial arts (Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan Karate and Japanese Jujutsu) and earned several black belts. After 36 years as a dedicated grocer in Colorado Springs, he retired and moved with his wife, Karen, to Cañon City. Adventurous and thrill-seeking, Dan loved riding dirt bikes and mountain bikes, and Jeep four-wheeling everywhere. An avid hiker and rock-hound, he was a master at flint-knapping and making jewelry from arrowheads he had chipped. He was a talented artist who loved teaching others interested in learning his craft. Passionate about the mountains and nature, he enjoyed hunting and fly-fishing with his brother, Bruce, and friends, and spent as much time outdoors with his wife, Karen, as possible.Despite his fighting spirit, he succumbed to a sudden illness and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Boston, two children; Daniel and Samantha Scott, six grandchildren; Krystal Berryhill, Nathan Sheppard, Justin Baird, Dale Scott, Duncan Scott, and Danielle Scott, and more than thirty nieces and nephews. Dan is also survived by his father; Benny Lloyd Boston, brother; Bruce Boston, sister; Elaine Folleto, extended family, and many friends.Dan was a free spirit who loved and accepted everyone who crossed his path.
