Obituary of Virginia Ruth Nicely Kelley

Virginia Nicely Kelley, age 95, died on Sunday, May 22, 2016. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and Registered Nurse who had been a resident of Popa's House on Burgess Road in Colorado Springs for a number of years.Virginia Ruth Nicely was born on February 15th, 1921 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Roy and Abigail (Slater) Nicely. She grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated from Pitt Caren High School in 1939. She then met and married Raymond Kelley on June 30, 1946 in East McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Together they raised a family of five children and moved to Florida. In 1975, they retired and moved to Canon City, Colorado and later to Wetmore, Colorado. In her early years, Virginia loved to ride horses and was a skilled and caring nurse. She then became a stay at home mom, and devoted her life to caring for others. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and watching hummingbirds.
