Obituary of Sarah "Sally" Bernadette McFadyen

With her family present Sally passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016. Sally finally succumbed to her long battle with Alzheimer's in which she fought courageously. She was born on April 21, 1944 in Newcastle West, Ireland. Sally came to America in 1961 where she settled in New York. She lived in Irvington, New York until 2002. She retired after 30 years of being a waitress. She was married to James McFadyen. In 2002 she moved to Colorado Springs to be closer to her daughter Lisa. Sally was a kind and loving person who was always happy to help anyone out. Her smile would light up a room. She was an avid doll collector and she loved flea markets, garage sales and of course her red lip stick, where she never let you see her with out it. She loved old movies and her favorite was Gone With The Wind. If you were lucky enough she made you watch it with her. Her 2 greatest loves in life where her children Lisa, Paul and Sean and her love of the bible. Sally was baptized over 40 years ago as a Jehovah's Witness in Yonkers, New York. Sally is survived by her children Lisa Guyder of Colorado Springs, Paul Maurer (deceased) and Sean McFadyen of Brooklyn, NY. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Timmy, David, Pat, Gerald, Anthony, Kathleen, Marion and Ann all off of Newcastle West, Ireland and also her sister Veronica of Hull, Massachusetts. Sally is also survived by several nieces nephews and cousins. Sally's family would like to give their heartfelt appreciation to all the staff of Namaste Alzheimer's Care Center, where for the past 7 years they cared for Sally and became our second family.
