Obituary of Gap Soon Kim

Gap Soon Kim, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went home to the Lord on June 21, 2016. She was born in Incheon, South Korea on November 16, 1929 and was a Colorado Springs resident since 1979. Kim worked in food service at the U.S. Air Force Academy for over 30 years and retired from the USAFA Dining Hall in 2010. She was known to many as "Mama Kim" and everyone that knew her loved her.In 2005, Kim became a proud Naturalized American Citizen after 27 years of living in the US. Kim is survived by her two daughters, Oksun Kathy Roberts of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Yon Sun (Wook Yon) Moon of San Jose, California; four loving granddaughters, Melissa (Kenneth) Rhault of Olympia, Washington, Christina (Edward) Cho of San Jose, California, Michelle Bird of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Hannah Moon of Los Angeles, California; and six great-grandchildren who were the light of her life, Madison Bird, Colton Rhault, Matthew Bird, Caylee Rhault, Noah Cho and Zachary Cho. Vigil and Rosary, 9:00AM, Monday, June 27, 2016 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 55 North Jefferson Street in Monument. Memorial Mass, 10:00AM, Monday, June 27, 2016 at St. Peter Catholic Church.Kim will be interred at Mount St. Francis.
