Obituary of Janet Marie Santibanez

Janet Marie Santibanez, age 42, died unexpectedly on July 19, 2016 of a heart attack on her way to the hospital. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and trusted friend. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Operation Joint Endeavor. As a civilian, Janet worked in various Civil Service positions: Security Officer, Commissary Employee, but most notably her career as a Peer Counselor for the Veterans Affairs Office.Janet Marie Mitchell was born on August 8, 1973 in Orlando, Florida to Dennis and Janice Baker. She grew up and attended high school in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. She served her country from 1994–1997 and was honorably discharged, having attained the rank of Specialist. She married Juan Carlos Santibanez on May 21, 1997 in Radcliff, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her biological father, Dennis Mitchell, and her brother, Dennis Mitchell, Jr. She is survived by her husband, MSG Juan Santibanez, USA (Ret.); her children, PO2 Jessica Santibanez, USN, Christopher Santibanez, ENS Juan (JJ) Santibanez, USN, Carlos Santibanez, and her youngest, Annalicia Santibanez. She is also survived by her mother, Janice and SFC Donald Baker USA (Ret.); her brother, James Baker; and her sister, Brandi Baker.
