James Brian McFadyen, 69, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully from leukemia on Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Memorial Hospital. Born in Glasgow, Scotland to Francis and Ann McFadyen, he lived most of his life in Westchester, New York.James retired to Colorado Springs in 2002 with his wife, Sarah McFadyen (deceased), so they could be closer with their family. James worked for over thirty years as a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office. He was a passionate man who enjoyed the outdoors. His favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing in the Catskill Mountains. When it was too cold to be outdoors, he would like to pass the time by reading. His favorite author was Ernest Hemingway and he was also an avid reader of poetry and the Bible. James was extremely loving and proud of his three children, Lisa Guyder, Paul Maurer (deceased), of Colorado Springs and Francis S. McFadyen of Brooklyn, New York. He is also survived by two sisters, Ann McSpeddon and Joan Donaldson. In accordance with his final wishes, James' remains will be laid to rest in Scotland by his son Francis sometime in the spring of 2017. John 3: 3-5 Jesus replied to him, "Truly, I tell you emphatically, unless a person is born from above he cannot see the kingdom of God.""How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Can he enter his mother's womb a second time to be born?"Jesus answered "Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit."John 14: 1-3"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
