Obituary of James "Jim" Russell Goodman

James R. Goodman, 76, of Colorado Springs and formerly of Waukesha, Wisconsin, passed away on August 14, 2016 in Colorado Springs.He was born on October 15, 1938 in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Theodore Bassett and Ellen (Kalk) Goodman.Jim led a long, full life with his wife and six children, relocating from Wisconsin to Canada to Georgia and then Connecticut, and finally to Colorado in his various roles within Junior Achievement, where he retired from. He served as President of the Broadmoor Rotary Club, during which time he and his wife Karen enjoyed the trip of a lifetime traveling through Europe and the Mediterranean.Jim had a very strong, humorous personality which mellowed over the years. He learned to enjoy his quiet retirement and spending time with his grandchildren. He passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. His wife and family cared for him during this time, allowing him to end his days surrounded by loved ones at home. His granddaughter, Stephanie, who is studying to be a nurse, was a devoted caregiver.
