Obituary of Denis Allen Doyle

It is with great sadness the family of Denis Allen Doyle announces his passing on August 20, 2016. He bravely battled cancer over fourteen years and was an inspiration to all who knew his strength, determination and perseverance. He often said he wanted to live to be 100 so he could see what was happening. He was proud to tell that his family arrived in Texas in 1823.Denis was born to Chester A. Doyle and Bennie Goodman Doyle on February 4, 1950, in Wichita Falls, Texas. His favorite memories were the time spent on the farm with his grandfather and working on the family ranch.Because he was a talented mechanic, his mother encouraged him to study airplane mechanics after graduating from Wichita Falls High School. He earned his degree from Texas State Technical Institute, Waco, Texas, in airframe and power plant mechanics in 1970. Two years later he earned his certificate as an Inspector, making him the youngest airframe and power plant authorized inspector in Texas at that time. After moving to Colorado Springs in 1977, Denis expanded his aviation career into flying as a corporate pilot for two local companies and a local family. He thoroughly enjoyed his time working on airplanes, flying and traveling to many interesting places during his thirty-seven years in aviation.Denis was a talented metal artist and creative chef. Family and friends enjoyed many wonderful meals that he prepared. He also enjoyed camping, ATV riding, gardening, traveling across the world, and spending time with his family. Denis and his wife, Marjorie, were high school sweethearts and were married for forty-five years. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Cook Doyle of Peyton, Colorado; daughter, Laura Doyle Hannum and her husband, Jonathan, of Dotsoro, Colorado; son, William Doyle and his wife, Angie, and granddaughters, Stella and Ruby of Longmont, Colorado; brother, Barclay Doyle and his wife, Elizabeth Doyle, of Grapevine, Texas; and nephews Robert Doyle, Brian Doyle, and Peter Doyle and his wife, Amanda, and daughters, Asher and Jean, of the Dallas area; his last aunt, Frances Goodman, of Belton, Texas; and numerous cousins and their families. We will all miss him very much.Thank you so much, friends and family, for your caring and support through this incredible life journey. Especially, thank you, Dennis and Christel.A memorial service will be held for Denis in September when family can gather.
