Obituary of Ray "Ed" Edward Winters

Ray "Ed" Edward Winters of Rush, Colorado passed away August 27, 2016 at a local Colorado Springs hospice.Ray was born on April 2, 1933 in Las Animas, Colorado.Ray met and then in 1950 married the love of his life, Dorothy Jane and had two children. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he worked in the mine fields and as a mechanic, and proudly fought in the Korean War. In 1954, Ray graduated from the 14th Infantry Division Non-Commission Officers School.He was a rancher his entire life. He was easy going, and people describe him as wonderful.Ray is survived by, sister; Irene (Mickey) Edwards, son; Michael (Darlene) Winters, daughter; Sunceray (Billy Bob) Bailey, grandchildren; Michael J. (Lisa) Winters, Evagene Winters, Kimberly (Terry) Williamson, RaeAnne Winters, Cooper Brimer, Dalton Brimer, and great-granchildren; Tyler Winters, Hannah Winters, Rebekka Winters, Emma Jo Winters, Jalil Cohens and Steven Johnson.Memorial Service, 3:00PM, Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Kendrick Bible Church, 2985 County Road K, Rush, Colorado 80833.In lieu of flowers, the family with gratitude requests contributions to assist with funeral expenses can be made directly to The Springs Funeral Services, www.tsfs.co.
