Obituary of Deborah "Debi" Meredith Bailey
Deborah "Debi" Bailey, age 45, passed away in her home in Colorado Springs on August 27, 2016 from complications of MELAS, a rare form of mitochondrial myopathy that she has been fighting for over twenty years. The disease is an incurable and progressive neuromuscular disease.Debi was born September 24, 1970 in Omaha, Nebraska to William F. and Linda (Misek) Brown. She graduated from Truman State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics in 1992 before marrying Chet Bailey on February 13, 1993.Debi was a member of Mountain Springs Church in Colorado Springs and an avid crafter (knitting, crochet, and card making). She helped others through organizations including All Crafts for Charity and Warm Hearts Warm Babies. Debi also ran an online craft supply store and opened a hobby store in Woodland Park, Colorado.She is survived by husband, Chet Bailey; her parents, William and Linda Brown; brother, Bill Brown; and beloved golden retriever, (faithful companion/service dog) Barnabas.Memorial Service, 11:00AM, Friday, September 30, 2016 at Mountain Springs Church, 7345 Adventure Way, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923.
