Obituary of Beau Beman
In the afternoon of Saturday, September 3, 2016, Christopher Beau Beman passed away at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Beau, as he was known to family and friends, was 31 years old. Beau was born January 13, 1985 to Candace G. and Philip K. Beman. He was the first child of Candace and second of Philip's. Beau attended Cheyenne Mountain School District 12 and graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School in May, 2003. Beau had several interests in life – he enjoyed fishing, shooting, and thoroughly enjoyed the world of sports of which he became most knowledgeable and was indeed a most challenging opponent involving sports trivia. Beau's love of sports developed into a true passion for hockey. At the young age of 6, Beau learned to ice skate and then he started learning the sport of hockey at the age of 7. From that time on, Beau loved hockey. Beau's younger brother Dusty followed in his path, and the two of them spent most of their free time perfecting their skills and abilities in the sport. Beau began playing hockey as a "mite" for Little Caesars Hockey League and then switched to Pikes Peak Amateur Hockey Association and continued from there. Beau also played hockey for Cheyenne Mountain High School. Beau's most cherished and beloved hockey team was the Detroit Red Wings. At the age of 18, Beau had truly become the ultimate Red Wings fan and with the assistance of one of his coaches, Beau was able to meet the players of the Detroit Red Wings during a team practice prior to a game with the Colorado Avalanche. After the practice, the players for the Red Wings signed a jersey of which Beau had framed in hockey sticks and proudly hung on his wall with other Red Wings memorabilia. In addition to hockey, Beau also enjoyed football with Michigan being his favorite college team and Kansas City Chiefs being his favorite NFL team. As one can imagine, there was plenty of sports rivalry amongst friends and family over the years. After graduating from Cheyenne Mountain, Beau attended Colorado Mountain College and Pikes Peak Community College. While still deciding on a career path, Beau worked as an irrigation technician for the Broadmoor Hotel for several years then left to pursue other interests. Beau was admired by the many lives he touched, most especially his nieces Brittany and Amy, who looked upon Beau more as a Big Brother than an Uncle. His sense of humor always brought a smile to a face and a chuckle to the soul. Beau will be missed dearly by his family as well as by all those who knew him and had the privilege to share a part of life with him. Beau was preceded in death by his father, Philip Beman. He is survived by his mother; Candace, his younger brother; Andrew (Dusty), his older brother; Philip (Mike), nieces; Brittany Anderson (Beman) and Amy Beman, nephew; Jacob Beman, Aunt Robyn and family, Aunt Denise and family, and Uncle Ronnie and family.
