Obituary of Patsy Mercer Cook

Patsy Cook was born in Belzoni, Mississippi in 1934. She graduated from Indianola High School in 1952. While working at Mississippi Power and Light, she met the love of her life, Edward Cook, whom she went on to marry in 1956 at Indianola First Baptist Church. She retired from Coldwell Banker Real Estate in 2004 upon moving to Lake Chicot, Arkansas. Ed and Patsy made the decision to move to Tupelo, Mississippi in 2008, and then on to Falcon, Colorado to be closer to her daughter and family in 2011.Patsy had a green thumb as evidenced by the abundance of plants and flowers that surrounded every home she resided in, as well as the countless hummingbirds that visited her daily. Despite her efforts to inform every restaurant of her diabetic condition, she loved her Southern cooking, especially her daily dose of biscuits and gravy. She spent numerous hours in the bathroom with her great granddaughters educating them on how to do their hair and makeup while also making sure she got her kisses in with her great grandson. Patsy loved spoiling her dogs, Sammi I and Sammi II and spent her down time challenging herself with a scenic puzzle or reading. One thing is for certain, Patsy will always be remembered for her crazy humor and her beautiful, bright smile.Patsy is survived by her husband, Edward Cook; two sisters, Bobbie Nell Fratesi and Jeanette (Cooter) Stanley; three children, Bubba Cook, Pam Rushing, and Robert Cook; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.Memorial Service, 3:00PM, Thursday, September 15, 2016 at The Springs Funeral Services - North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services~North6575 Oakwood Blvd.Colorado Springs, COUSA 80923 Events Service Thursday, September 15, 2016 3:00PM The Springs Funeral Services - North 6575 Oakwood Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO 80923 Phone: 719-207-8611
