Obituary of Clyde Ivan Shaw

On a beautiful spring evening in Hoxie, Kansas, Clyde Ivan Shaw was born breech in an old soddy farmhouse to Freda Fern and Ivan Shaw, before the times of electricity and modern plumbing. He grew up on the family farm, living the American Dream with his younger sister Linda. After graduating from Sheridan High School, where he swam, wrestled, and boxed; Clyde went on to college and joined a fraternity where he learned the art of having a good time. Shortly after college Clyde enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in New Jersey where he thoroughly enjoyed the ocean and city, which was very different from his Kansas country home. When he was sent to the Reserves in Colorado, he met and married the love of his life, a gorgeous brown eyed girl with the biggest heart of gold, Julia Martinez. They had four children in the Denver area while he worked for Coors for over 30 years.When the kids were grown and out of the house, Clyde and Julia joined bowling teams, traveled the world, and enjoyed their retirement surrounded by their kids and grandchildren with many barbecues and family get-togethers. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage.He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his wife. Clyde was survived by all four children, Denise (Bill) Beausay, Rhonda (Casey) Sprouse, Cindy (Kory) Heilig, and Scott (Renee) Shaw, his sister Linda Bowcutt, his eight grandkids, and eight great grandkids.
