Obituary of Teresita "Theresa" Archuleta

Theresa Archuleta went home to be with the Lord October 25, 2016. She was born June 5, 1954 in Denver, CO to the late Barbara Garcia and Jose Amarante Archuleta. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age, and took particular joy in reading, living out, and discussing the Scriptures.Theresa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1978, and was a graduate of Colorado Technical University, class of 2001, where she earned her Master's of Science in Management with a concentration in Information Technology. She served as an administrative assistant at Colorado Academy of Veterinary Technology where she passionately assisted students in securing their dreams; the gift of an angel. She united in marriage to Gabriel Martinez in 1975, and this union was blessed with two children: Brandon Martinez (preceded May 2015) and Marisa Martinez. She was a faithful wife and selfless mother who pursued earnestly to put the woman of Proverbs 31 into sincere practice.Theresa's life was filled with witnessing and serving unselfishly to all whom she came in contact with. She left indelible marks of Christ-working-through-her on the people whom she came across. Her motherly wisdom, humble disposition, and undeniable strength in her faith will truly be missed and sought after as an example by all who knew her.Theresa is survived by her grieving daughter, Marisa Martinez of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and her grandson whom she loved dearly, Josiah Martinez of Brighton, Colorado. She leaves behind an extended grieving family; her cousin, Retta; her sister, Angie; three close sisters in Christ, Cyndie Solomon, Tory White, and Brenda Yates; and a whole host of special friends, coworkers, and familiar acquaintances. For a short while, she sleeps—until Christ resurrects her from the dust to eternal life.
