Obituary of MSGT Gary W. Love, USAF,

Gary W. Love, 68, of Colorado Springs, passed away at home after a long battle with brain cancer.Gary was born in Alton, Illinois to Herb and Katherine Love on January 28, 1948. He was a graduate of Roxana High School in Roxana, Illinois and married Linda on May 4, 1968 in East Alton, Illinois after enlisting in the United States Air Force. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served for over twenty-two years. He worked and retired from the City of Colorado Springs Fleet Division.Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Katherine Love of Woodburn, Illinois.He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Linda; two children, Michael (Teresa) Love and Kristina (Sean) Minton, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He also leaves behind his four grandchildren, Ryan, Andrew, Rebecca, and Jackson; two sisters, Kay (Don) Gwaltney and Fay (Bill) Gustin; his mother-in-law, Beulah; and his puppies, Molly, Polly & Dolly, along with a host of other family members.Although disabled from his illness, Gary was able to enjoy some wonderful activities with the CIty of Colorado Springs Therapeutic Recreation Program and the Headway Organization.The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Pikes Peak Hospice for their time and loving care during this difficult time.Memorial contributions in Gary's memory may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 2550 Tenderfoot Hill Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80906.Private services will be held at a later date.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services~North6575 Oakwood Blvd.Colorado Springs, COUSA 80923 Events Service Sunday, November 27, 2016 12:00AM The Springs Funeral Services - North 6575 Oakwood Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO 80923 Phone: 719-207-8611
