Kara Crews was born to Carl B. and Ann Crews on December 20, 1957, on a wintery night at Toul Air Force Base, Toul Rosières, France. Her summer work during college was at Glacier National Park, United States Forest Service in Montana. She served as an animal control officer at Rapid City, South Dakota, and loved taking home wolves, raccoons, and many orphaned critters who found a new and loving advocate. From Rapid City she volunteered for the Air Force and served five years as an Administration Specialist at Edwards AFB, California. Moving to Colorado, Kara worked at Current, the USAF Academy Food Service, and Cadet Clothing Supply as a GS employee. Her move to Buckley AFB in Logistics as a GS-6 was next.
