Obituary of Philip Dean Fortner
Philip Dean Fortner, 52, a native of Colorado Springs, passed away on November 17, 2016. He was born April 24, 1964, to Clarence Dean (Buddy) Fortner, and Englewood and Joan Colnar Flaherty of Colorado Springs.He was a 1982 graduate of Wasson High School.Philip was a loyal Chicago Cubs fan and a Seattle Seahawks fan. He enjoyed the outdoors, motorcycles, snowmobiling with a friend in Leadville, and especially camping and fishing the lakes and streams of Colorado. He was a movie buff and collected vinyl LP records.He was a devoted and loving father to his two children, Madelaine Nicolle Fortner, 20, and Brennon Philip Fortner, 18 of Loveland, Colorado. He was a laser machinist and a quality control specialist in sheet metal manufacturing throughout Colorado Springs and Denver. He also enjoyed house painting.Philip is survived by his father; Buddy, his mother; Joan, and brother; Jeffrey Fortner. Also surviving are his stepfather; Thomas Flaherty, stepbrothers; Michael Flaherty and Sean Rowe of Colorado Springs, stepsisters; Tonya Betterson and Eileen McPhail of Colorado Springs, and Dawn Evans of West Yorkshire, England, as well as seventeen nieces and nephews.Visitation, 4:00PM-7:00PM, Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80909.Funeral service, 1:00PM, Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Central Christian Church 2002 West Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80904.
