Obituary of Ruth Evelyn Mann
Ruth Evelyn Mann passed into glory early in the morning on November 19, 2016 at Cheyenne Mountain Care and Rehabilitation Center in Colorado Springs from complications of Parkinson's disease. She was a blessing from God to those around her until the end. Ruth is survived by her devoted husband, Robert (Bob) Mann; her brother, Kenneth McBurney; by her four children, Roger (Malinda), Sheryl (Mark) Linders, Keith (Jill), and Greg (Catherine); by fifteen grandchildren; and by eight great grandchildren.Ruth was born July 11, 1933 in Beloit, Kansas to Ralph Waldo McBurney and Irene Inez (Spear) McBurney. They eventually settled in Quinter, Kansas, where Ruth met her savior, Jesus Christ. She also met Bob, her future husband there. Some time after Bob and Ruth were married, they settled in Colorado. Ruth lived a full life serving God and others in many ways. She was first a homemaker, wife, and mother, but also served other roles including camp nurse, Sunday School teacher/coordinator, church treasurer, piano teacher, backpacker, Cub Scout Den Mother, neighborhood "mom", seamstress, quilter, baker, amateur photographer, president of a Gideon's Auxiliary group, mentor, and others.
