Obituary of Yukie Fukaya Larson

Yukie Fukaya Larson, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, grandaunt, friend to many, and child of God passed away on November 22, 2016. She was born on November 11, 1931 in Obu of the Aichi Prefecture, Japan to Man-ichi and Tsuya Fukaya. She married Francis Adolph "Gus" Larson on December 17, 1959 who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Hideo Fukaya, Yasuyuki Fukaya, and Shigeru Fukaya and one sister Shizuko Shinkai.Yukie's history is deep and rich and full. It is more than where she grew up, attended school or worked. Her life was marked by courage, dedication, independence, strength, and her faith in God. She left her family and home country to marry an American and raise a family in a foreign land. She built a beautiful life here. Yukie instilled her values in her children and she made many life-long friends. The word that can encapsulate Yukie's life is faithful. In every way.Yukie leaves behind a host of family and friends to cherish her memory. Included are her devoted children Randy (Lisa) Larson and Jackie (Troy) Roberson, grand-daughters Jessica Thomas and Lindzie Balser, and her many close friends from singing, painting, and church.Visitation will take place this Monday, November 28 from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday, November 29 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Springs Funeral Services at 3115 E. Platte Avenue. A tribute to Yukie's life is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at her church, Southside Bible Chapel, 1725 S. Wahsatch Avenue in the Southgate area. Private cremation and burial services are planned. Flowers are always welcome.
