Obituary of Candace "Candy" D. Draper
Candace "Candy" D. Draper, 67, unexpectedly passed on November 24, 2016. She is survived by her husband of thirty-one years, Paul Draper of Salida, Colorado; her mother, Camille (Ryder) Jacobs, of Yuma, Arizona; and her brother, John (Lois) Jacobs of Apple Valley, California; and various cousins and nephews. Candy was born February 3, 1949 in San Bernardino, California to Alvin and Camille Jacobs. As a young woman, she fell in love with horses. She participated in many rodeo parades and trail rides with the San Bernardino County Sheriff posse. Until her last day, she would often speak of her love of horses. She graduated from Victorville High School in California, and attended Riverside College for her Medtech license. She worked at St. Mary's Hospital as a Medtech and later was employed by a cement plant in Victorville, California where she became a supervisor, and learned and enjoyed to operate heavy equipment. Candy was an active outdoors woman, enjoying fishing, water skiing, golf, hunting, and hiking with her dog. She enriched and befriended all that she met, and she was a mainstay in her husband's life. She lived and loved life to the fullest, and spent every day walking her dog, Anna, and enjoying life with her husband and friends.
