Obituary of Joe Claude Dustrude

Joe Claude Dustrude passed away December 1, 2016 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born November 13, 1948 to Harold and Pearly (Murr) Dustrude.He worked for El Paso County Telephone Company and later for The 94 Landscaping Company and for Landscape Endeavors, but the love of his life was his farm, Pleasant Valley Farm and Dairy.Joe was a man that found joy in helping others. He gave his time and talents often and would give money and food to the homeless. He was a "Silent Angel" to the area churches, as he did snow removal on Sunday morning when needed. He enjoyed farming, being outside caring for his forest of trees. He could make just about anything with a piece of metal and his welder. He built an amazing set of working corrals and pens. He also enjoyed creating novelty pieces of art for his family and friends. He loved fast motorcycles throughout his life, and did amazing work with his Skid Loader.He is survived by his twin sister, Joanie (Paul) McHenry of Oklahoma; his niece, Pearleen (Bill) Riley of Oklahoma; his nephew, Stanley Jr. (Sheryl) of Ellicott; his nephew, Steven (Jamie) of Calhan; several great-nieces and nephews; his special friend, Norma Houghton; and his best friend and dog companion, Red.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Claude and Eunice Murr; his parents, Harold and Pearly Dustrude; and his brother, Stanley. Joe will be missed dearly by the many people he touched. He was a man of "LARGE HANDS - BIG HEART".
