MSG James Leon Smotherman, Jr., 83, died on December 3, 2016 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.He was born on August 19, 1933 in Rutherford, Tennessee to James Leon and Beatrice Neal (Cole) Smotherman.James was an infantryman and a retired veteran of the United States Army.He is survived by his wife, Maria Smotherman; a son, James Andrew Smotherman; and a daughter, Judy Carol Allman.
