Obituary of George Stanley Brantley

George Stanley Brantley was born June 21, 1946 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Herman and Ann Marie Brantley. He departed this life on December 7, 2016 in his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado after a brief battle with cancer. He was 70 years old.George attended St. Mary's School in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and went on to graduate from Choctawhatchee High School in 1964. He continued his education at Florida State University. He was a United States veteran who served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.George was a flooring contractor in San Diego, California before opening his own flooring company, G and R Flooring. He married Shelley Ann Hoke on October 12, 1996 in Hemet, California. He and Shelley Ann relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2005 where he worked for SC Design. George enjoyed the outdoors and often traveled in his RV. He was a handyman and enjoyed working with his hands. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family.George is survived by his wife, Shelley Ann Brantley; his son, Eric (Laura) Brantley of Escondido, California; and his daughter, Karen (Phil) Hughes of Temecula, California. He also leaves his stepson, Brian Madrigal of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brothers, Robert Brantley of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Walter (Linda) Brantley of Pace, Florida; Patrick (Elaine) Brantley of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Richard (Rhonda) Brantley of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; and sister, Linda (Bob) Carpenter of Destin, Florida. He is also survived by his brother-law: Jim Dunkel.
