Obituary of Marjory Jeanne Francis

It is with great sadness that I share with you the passing of Maggie Francis on January 9, 2017. Unfortunately, the 90 MPH gale force wind gusts Monday night, coupled with a slamming storm door at an apartment where the tenant was out of town, and Maggie marching out with a flashlight and duct tape before dawn to remedy the situation, led to a horrific accident. She suffered severe injuries from a fall off the balcony when a blast of wind caught the door and ripped it from its hinges.Lovely Maggie, also known as Margie, lived life to the fullest, never really retiring or acting her age. We all have witnessed her indomitable spirit and a zest for life as she danced up a storm and kept contact with her many friends. Anyone who sought advise about organizing, vitamins, Feng Shui, astrology, numerology, or staging for a real estate sale, could be sure to get many ideas from Maggie. She loved her cozy home and tried to see the best and most positive in every situation. Maggie moved to Colorado Springs in 1989 to escape the earthquakes, possibly because she liked the ratio of men to women, and never looked back. Born in El Paso, Texas, Maggie had one son, Greg, who resides with his wife, Jeanette, and daughters, Sadie and Ivy, in Alaska.Maggie leaves many others to mourn her unexpected passing including her brother, Bob and (Mary Lu) Francis; their children, Marjie Jeanne, Judy and Bobby of northern California; as well as cousins; Lisa Groff (Kevin O'Connor) and sons, Zach and Matt of New Jersey; Pete Groff and (Maria Balcells) of Pennsylvania; and Karen and (Bob) Hilborn, and sons Alex and Nick of Colorado Springs, Colorado.There will be a memorial gathering to raise a glass to our dear friend and all those interested are welcome. It will be Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 3:00-5:00PM at Rocky Mountain Brewery, 625 Paonia, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80915.
