Obituary of Jacalyn "Jackie" Mary Dixon

Jackie was born Sept 20, 1957 to Charles and Eileen (Yettman) Witt. She was raised in Hansen, Nebraska, and graduated from Doniphan High School in Doniphan, Nebraska. She attended Hastings College for two years. She went to the University of Omaha, where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education/Special Education. Jackie was employed by Grand Island Public Schools working with Deaf and Special Needs children. She moved to Colorado where she taught at Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind. In 1986, she met the love of her life, Henry "Hank" Dixon, whom she married and had two daughters, Kimberly and Kasey, and gained two stepdaughters, Denise and Michelle. She has seven grandchildren, Brandon, 7 mos; Kiara, 17; Khalil, 13; Samara and Samorah, 9; Mariah, 8; and Rasi'Ahna, 6. Jackie was employed by National College, where she enrolled students and taught English as a second language. She retired from the college in 2013 due to health problems. Jackie had a strong faith and a great love of life. She loved having all of her special grandkids with her.
