Obituary of Linda Faye Raines

Linda (Greene) Raines longtime resident of Colorado Springs, died March 9, 2017, of complications from pancreatic cancer. She lived for 74 years.Linda was born in Perham, MN, to Kenneth and Alice Greene. She later moved to International Falls, MN. She married Ben Raines March 7, 1964. She was a military wife and lived in many states and countries where she met many people who she remained in contact with up to her death.She was primarily a homemaker but also worked as a nurse's aide and in the nursery at Calvary United Methodist Church, where she was a member for many years and active with the Crafty Ladies. She was known for sewing Christmas stockings for her family and close friends. She will be remembered most as a caretaker and nurturer. She was the primary caregiver for her husband, who suffered from Multiple Sclerosis, and her mother, who died at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Belinda, and sister-in-law Betty "Dale" (Raines) Green.She is survived by her son Todd (Amanda) Raines, daughter Alison (Michelle) Raines, a sister Bonnie Shirley, two brothers Michael Green, and Paul (Lynn) Green, two granddaughters Heather Valentine and Jordan Raines, a great-grandson Eli Valentine, and numerous nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held 11:00AM, Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 4210 Austin Bluffs Parkway with a reception to follow at the church.
