Obituary of Elizabeth Marilyn Buesing

Elizabeth M. Buesing went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on March 12, 2017. She was surrounded by her beloved family. She was an Air Force wife, a homemaker, a mother, sister and woman of faith.Elizabeth Marilyn Svalstad was born on March 3, 1943 in Webster, South Dakota to the late Ralph and Emily (Schultz) Svalstad. She was raised in Greeley, Colorado and was a 1961 graduate of Greeley Central High School. She then attended the University of Northern Colorado at Greeley.She married Lee Roy Buesing on August 28, 1965 in Greeley, and the couple were stationed around the world with the U.S. Air Force. The family retired in Colorado Springs first in 1981, and then moved to Littleton, Colorado in 1986, where they were members of Our Father's Lutheran Church.Elizabeth and Lee moved back to Colorado Springs in 2008 and joined Bethel Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church Adult Choir for a number of years.Mrs. Buesing was a skilled musician. She loved to play the violin, viola, cello and piano. She also enjoyed motorcycling with her husband, and they traveled all over the U.S. on their touring bike. She is survived by her husband, MSGT Lee Roy Buesing, USAF, (Ret.) of Colorado Springs; her daughters, Aimee (Eddie) Calderon and Sunniye Buesing of Colorado Springs; and her sister, Barbara Blankenship of Sun City, Arizona.Visitation, 6:00PM-8:00PM, Friday, March 24, 2017 at The Springs Funeral Services-North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923.Funeral Service, 11:00AM, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 4925 Farmingdale Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80917. A Luncheon Reception will follow in the Christ Center of the Church. Private inurnment will be at the Bethel Lutheran Church Columbarium.
