Obituary of LeAvice Ann King

LeAvice Ann King entered eternal rest, into the arms of her Savior, in the early morning of April 20, 2017, Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born on December 3, 1940 in Canon City, Colorado to Elmer H. and Beulah B. (Brisendine) Taylor. She attended Pasadena Nazarene College, receiving her certificate in bookkeeping. She met the love of her life, George W. King, and married on August 27, 1960. With God as their foundation, they were blessed with fifty-six years of marriage; two beautiful children, Greg and Tami; and four amazing grandchildren, Lindsey, Jordan, Kasey and Shelby, all who filled their lives with joy. Beginning lessons at an early age, LeAvice's skills on the piano were artfully mastered. We reveled in hearing her play. She gave piano lessons and played for her church for many years. Her greatest passions were embracing family moments, living selflessly, and loving unconditionally. She found joy and happiness in simplicity. She treasured family picnics, spring training baseball games, walks, the outdoors, and friendships. Her contentment was evident with every aspect of her grandchildren, children and family. She also thoroughly enjoyed driving "Little Miss Sunshine." Her ability to find happiness and peace was contagious and abounded to every person she touched.A longtime resident of Colorado Springs, LeAvice worked as a non-profit sponsorship writer for Compassion International for almost twenty years. Her endeavors in caring for sponsors provided great comfort for all. Her greatest desire to serve was fully attained through her work and family. Her gift of continued self-sacrifice was endless and will remain her legacy forever. She is survived by her husband, George W. King; a son, Greg (Cyndi) King; a daughter, Tami King-Latka (Wayne); and her four grandchildren, Lindsey (Boris) Loncaric, Jordan King, Kasey Wachtendorf, and Shelby Wachtendorf. We will miss our wife, mother and "The Greatest Grams in the World," we know Heaven has an "Extraordinary Angel" watching over us. The time apart will be short compared to eternity. We gain peace in knowing her strength is forever restored. Please join us in celebrating her life as we honor and pay tribute at a Memorial Service, 11:00AM, Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Colorado Springs First Church of the Nazarene, 4120 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80916.In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to Compassion International or The Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, as they have provided direction and guidance in her life.We love you, miss you and hold you as our hero and biggest fan.Love,Your Loving FamilyFuneral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909 Events Service Saturday, April 29, 2017 11:00AM Colorado Springs First Church of the Nazarene 4120 East Fountain Boulevard Colorado Springs, CO 80916 Phone: 719-328-1793
