Obituary
Obituary of Marie Jenny Galloway
Marie Jenny Galloway was born on August 10, 1950 at home and Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was the third youngest of eight siblings, six girls and two boys total. She did not leave home until she attended the University of Wyoming for two years, but she came back because she was too homesick. Later on in life, she moved to Denver with her other two sisters who were already living there. She met her first husband there and had her first child, Marina Barela, at the age of 27. Then, at the age of 32, she had Manuelina Ochoa, two years after she had met her second husband. At 42, she would have her son, Matthew Masias, also with her second husband. In 2004, she met the love of her life, Peter Galloway. They had fourteen wonderfully happy years together. Her favorite pastime was to play Texas Hold'em Poker. Her family always loved that she was this petite, soft-spoken, super sweet poker shark. She would play at local bars in Cheyenne and also in Colorado Springs. She would not drink though, as she was twenty-plus-years sober. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was always the greatest aunt to her nephews and nieces and took them everywhere around town and loved spending time with them. Marie was also an amazing grandmother. The best and most loving and caring and thoughtful Grandma that anyone could ever ask for. She never had a temper, and she loved all of her grandchildren more than the world itself. They always felt her love with such admiration and she always made their hearts happy the way they made her heart happy. Marie was so self-sacrificing, and put out so much love, and was always the best person because she never asked for anything ever in return. She touched the lives of all who knew her and she will be truly missed, more than even words can describe. Marie is survived by her loving husband, Peter Galloway; her daughters, Marina Barela and Lina Ochoa; her son, Matthew Masias; her grandchildren, Marisa, Calista and Elysea Garcia, and Isaac, Isabella, Sophia and Eric Ochoa; and numerous other family members and friends.Memorial Mass, 9:00AM, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 603 House Avenue, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82001.Graveside Service to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Cheyenne.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909
