Obituary of Margie "Marg" Emma Louise Cotton

Margie Emma Louise Cotton, age 62, went to her eternal home on May 4, 2017 at their home in Colorado Springs after a long-fought battle with breast cancer. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in Jesus, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and other supporters helped to carry the weight. Marg was born September 27, 1954 in New Ulm, Minnesota, the precious daughter of Carl Julian and Esther Lillian Distad.Known for her contagious smile and huge heart, she spent her life focused on her faith in Jesus Christ. Even when facing a grueling battle with cancer, she never once lost her faith. She was the type of woman that you could simply look at and know there was something special about her. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten. In 1984, Marg married the love of her life, Reggie Cotton. After marrying, they never stopped dating and loved to spend time with family and traveling the country. Their favorite getaway was the soft sand beaches of Hawaii. In addition to raising their four boys, she also worked for Hallmark Cards for seventeen years. Family and friends were Marg's passion and delight. She loved to host and entertain at her home, especially when her Denver Broncos were playing. Marg is survived by her husband, Reggie; sons, Troy, Darrel, Sean, and Matthew and their spouses; and ten loving grandchildren.Public Visitation, 4:00PM-7:00PM, Monday, May 8, 2017 at The Springs Funeral Services-North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923.
