Obituary of Wilhelmine "Wilma" Scott

Wilhelmine "Wilma" Scott, a longtime resident of the Colorado Springs area, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 4, 2017 at the home of her daughter, Patsy Rother, in Woodstock, Georgia.Born in 1938 in Cusco, Peru, Wilma grew up in the Amazon jungles and Andes Mountains of Peru. As a young adult living in the mining town of Toquepala, she met and married Cecil J. Scott and eventually moved to Colorado Springs. She was married for forty-four years, and had four daughters. Wilma was a kindhearted person who enjoyed gardening, cooking, and bird-watching. She also looked forward to socializing and meeting people, and has made countless friendships throughout her life.She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil.Wilma is survived by four daughters, Wilhelmina (James) Beham, Patsy (Ed) Rother, Johanna (Steve) Dowdy, and Herta (David) Scott; her six grandchildren, James Beham, Bryan (Holly) Scott, Tyler Dowdy, Tim Rother, Amanda Beham and Elizabeth (David) Vigil; and five great-grandchildren.Wilma will be dearly missed and remembered with fondness.Graveside Service, 2:30PM, Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 8023.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909 Events Service Thursday, May 11, 2017 2:30PM Fort Logan National Cemetery 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard Denver, CO 80235 Phone: 303-761-0117
