Obituary of Deborah "Debby" Hardcastle Weaver

Deborah "Debby" Hardcastle Weaver, 55, passed peacefully in her sleep the morning of May 27, 2017, to her eternal home with Jesus. Debby had battled brain tumors with all her strength and every possible weapon for several recent years. Debby was born February 15, 1962 in Colorado Springs. She was a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs, growing up with older sisters, Ricki, Linda, and Holly. Debby graduated high school in 1979 from Colorado Springs Christian School. There she had met her best friend, Ken Weaver, and they were married in the Great Hall of Glen Eyrie Castle on April 29, 1984. Ken passed away in 2013. During the most recent year, Debby enjoyed love again with her beau, Richard Musseau, whom she met through a Bible study group. Although their time together was cut short, it was Godly and blessed.Debby enjoyed traveling and had vacations in Mexico on several occasions, along with visiting several states (California, Washington, Arizona, and New York). She and Ken had a shared dream of going on an Alaskan adventure. Debby had many hobbies over the years, including crocheting and beading. Her handworks that have been gifted will be treasured. She recently took up painting and was showing real talent.Debby was a wordsmith all of her working life. She was a "walking thesaurus and dictionary" and seemed to know every word in her work as an editor, proofreader, and text writer. She began working at NavPress right after high school, and worked there in several capacities for about seventeen years. Later, she moved to Christian Booksellers Association. In 1992, she became a partner with Ken in Weaver Design, and she worked there until the present. It could be said by many people that Debby had the best knowledge and use of the English language of anyone they had known. Clients included Compassion International, Christian Booksellers Association, CEO Forum, NavPress, and David C. Cook. Debby also edited many, many books for both publishers and authors.Debby was preceded in death by her husband of nearly twenty-nine years, Ken; parents, Jerry and Marietta Hardcastle; all grandparents; and her uncles, aunts, and two cousins. She is survived by her sisters, Ricki Pezoldt (Jerry), Linda West (Robert, deceased), and Holly Bombria (Chris); her beau, Richard Musseau; many well-loved family members on her husband's side of the family, including parents-in-law, Wayne and Wanda Weaver; brother-in-law, Rick Weaver (Lisa); and sister-in-law, Lisa (Weaver) Guhl (David); along with many very-loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Debby also loved her kitties very much – Susie and Ellie will miss her.There was so much love for Debby in all of her walks of life. She met friends easily through her church and work, and always knew her neighbors in Westmoor Park, Mountain Shadows, and Pinon Glen. Debby had lifelong friends, the closest of whom was Lisa Thunberg Rice. Debby was especially treasured by her sister, Holly, as they were close in age and were best friends throughout life.
