Obituary of Dorothy "Dotti" Dunlap

Dorothy "Dotti" Dunlap died on June 5, 2017 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dotti was born on December 18, 1940 in Pueblo, Colorado to Frederick P. Dunlap of Pueblo and Dorothy A. (Cerjanec) White of Denver. She was a graduate of CU Boulder. In 1962, she joined the newly formed Peace Corps and served as a teacher in the Philippines for six years. Upon her return home, she accepted a job teaching in District 11 in Colorado Springs, and retired forty-three years later, having amassed dozens of District 11 friends and hundreds of devoted students and their parents.Dotti is survived by her partner of twenty-six years, Holly Bond of Colorado Springs; sisters, Nicki Bechtloff of Media, Pennsylvania, Patti Dunlap of Lorton, Virginia, and Cathi (Tom) Geisler of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; beloved nieces, Gaylene Geisler of Saint Paul, Minnesota, and Ellen (Greg) Laibe; and two great-nephews of West Chester, Pennsylvania.She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gus Dunlap of Denver.In lieu of contributions, go feed the ducks at the Broadmoor and visit the otters at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909 Events Service Thursday, June 15, 2017 12:00AM The Springs Funeral Services 3115 East Platte Avenue Colorado Springs, CO 80909 Phone: 719-207-8855
