Obituary of Angelika L. Kernan

Angelika L. Kernan, age 74, died on June 22, 2017, at her home in rural El Paso County, surrounded by her loving family. She was retired from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, where she was a Bailiff, Security Tech, and Training Department Administrator.She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was also a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Calhan.Angelika Louise Rasp was born on March 6, 1943 in Saaz, Germany to the late Adolf and Charlotte (Lucas) Rasp. She was raised in Hof, Germany, and attended school there. She married her loving husband of fifty-one years on May 7, 1966, in Hof, Germany. They soon moved to the U.S. and were stationed in California and Mississippi before being stationed in Colorado, where they have lived since 1971. Angelika regularly climbed the Manitou Incline and loved hiking in her beloved mountains. She also studied Spanish and took Classical and Jazz Piano lessons.She is survived by her husband, MSgt Paul E. Kernan, USAF, (Ret.); sons, Patrick (Dawn) Kernan of Iowa, and Andrew Kernan of Colorado Springs; and three grandchildren, Scott, Bradley, and Chase.
