Obituary of Willis "Moose" Peters
Will was born in La Belle, Missouri to Samuel and Leona Peters. Will had one sister, Anne Peters, who preceded him in death. He was married to Mary Jo Lubbe of Quincy, Illinois, who also preceded him in death. Will is survived by three children, Cindy Gonzales (Bernie) of Colorado Springs, Mike Peters (Tracy) of Colorado Springs, and Bill Peters (Tasha) of Castle Rock. He has eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Will graduated from The Colorado Springs School (Palmer). He held many jobs during his life in Colorado Springs. He owned and operated the Texaco gas station at Palmer Park & Circle for many years. He was a gas truck driver for D R Scott oil for ten plus years and worked for Woodford Manufacturing for ten years. Will also enjoyed being a chauffeur for several years after "retiring", as well as just driving cars for several in-town car dealerships and rental agencies for the remainder of his working life. Will enjoyed bowling in the many leagues throughout his life and, as he liked to say, taught his children everything he knew. He had many friends through his work, and a great friendship with his second family at Spencer's Market. He worked with the Pikes Peak Hill Climb and enjoyed any kind of car racing that he could get to and participate in. He was always ready to watch NASCAR. The Peters family would like to thank the Spencer's Market family for the love and friendship they showed our father. To everyone in the racing community who knew him, he loved everything he did with you. A Celebration of Will's Life will be planned for a later date.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909
