Obituary of Briar Estelle Schumacher
It is with a heavy heart that I must share the sad news of the passing of Briar Schumacher of Colorado Springs, Colorado on July 4, 2017. She was a God-fearing woman, a devoted wife, and a dedicated mother. Her moral compass led her to speak out against wrongs, support charities for sustainability, and be a steadfast ethical citizen. As her husband, I will always remember her as my better half. There is certainly a void left by her absence. Briar was born April 10, 1980 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She is survived by her husband, Kevin; her two children, Awin and Winzy of Colorado; her mother, Betty Wallis-Halley of Wyoming; her father, Terry Halley of Wyoming; her grandmother, Betty Halley of Arizona; her paternal uncle, David Halley and spouse, Sheri, of Wyoming; their children, Jason and Jared of Wyoming, and Sherrene Hall and spouse, Kevin, of Colorado; her paternal uncle, Mike Halley and spouse, Maggie, of Arizona; and their children, Jonathan Halley and spouse, Rubina, and Andrea White and spouse, Kyle. Her in-laws are Susan and Roy Lynn Schumacher of Texas. Briar had her master's degree in mechanical engineering and worked at Spectranetics until she was too ill to continue. She made many wonderful friends there who have continued to help and support her husband and children. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, whose members have been extremely supportive and caring to the family, also. The family wishes to thank everyone who has been so wonderful to them during Briar's extended illness. Briar's Memorial Service will be held, 10:00AM, Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2845 Parliament Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80920. Inurnment will be the same day. Please come as we bid farewell to a rare person that could see the world as a whole. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest donations to one of the following charities in her name: Camp Kesem (Camp for Awin and other children with parent(s) suffering through cancer): https://donate.kesem.org/funfraise/fcid=836874; The Heifer Foundation: http://www.heiferfoundation.org/; or one of the water charities found here: https://www.thelifeyoucansave.org/Causes/Water-and-Sanitation.Funeral Home:The Springs Funeral Services3115 East Platte AvenueColorado Springs, , COUS 80909
