Obituary of Peggy Lee Dwire

Peggy Lee Dwire, age 74, died on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at a local care center. She was a retired bookkeeper for the family business, Dwire Earthmoving, and a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.Peggy Lee Fredrichs was born on October 2, 1942 in New Ulm, Minnesota to the late Elmer J. and Muryal Mae (Schlueter) Fredrichs. She grew up in Mankato, Minnesota and was a 1960 graduate of Mankato High School. She moved to Marshall, Minnesota while working for Western Union. She then married and raised her family. In 1986 the family moved to Colorado, then to California in 1990. Peggy moved back to Minnesota in 1994, spending time with her siblings before rejoining her children and grandchildren permanently in Colorado Springs in 2000. She was a full-time grandma, an integral part of the family business, and retired in 2012. She loved her pond and watching the abundant wildlife in Minnesota, gardening, the outdoors, swimming with her grandchildren, ice cream, especially caramel vanilla, and watching her sons' heavy equipment move the earth. She could not stand squirrels, constantly afraid one would get into the house!She is survived by her four children, James A. (Karri) Dwire, Jr. of Colorado Springs, Jeffrey R. (Isabel) Dwire of Colorado Springs, Joel P. (Jenalyn) Dwire of the Philippines, and Janna (Kerry) Rothgeb of Fountain, Colorado.She is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her four brothers, John (Marsha) Fredrichs of Lakeville, Minnesota, Dennis Fredrichs of Colorado Springs, and James Petersen and Terry Petersen of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
