Obituary of Irene Margaret Morgan

Irene Margaret Morgan, age 88, went home with the angels September 7, 2017. Irene was born October 17, 1928 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Karl L. and Anna S. Heim.Harold and Irene were married June 11, 1949 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leavenworth, Kansas and then moved to Anthony, New Mexico in September when Harold became a machinist at the La Tuna Federal Correctional Institution. She remained there until health reasons required her relocation to Colorado Springs. She was always active in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, making altar cloths, linens, and banners as a member of the Altar Society. She also assisted the Lions Club with the making of many stuffed animals and food for the annual carnival. Irene enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crocheting, using her skills to help many people by making clothes and blankets. She loved living in Anthony and missed all of her friends, as they have her.She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold E. Morgan; parents, Karl and Anna; her sister, Mary Louise Darrah; and brother, Robert Heim.Irene is survived by her children, Tom (Debby) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Karen (Greg) Havo of Madison, Alabama, and John (Kelly) of Renton, Washington; her three grandchildren, Sarah (TJ) Dankesreiter, Cameron (Allison) Morgan, and Valerie Morgan; and five great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held, 9:00AM, Monday, October 9, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 224 Lincoln Street, Anthony, New Mexico 88021.
