I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Molly. I can't help but think how lucky your kids are to have had such an admirable grandfather. I know how proud your father was of you and your sister. You, your mom and Shelly are in my thoughts.

So so many precious memories of your dad in Lima! Your home was my second home growing up! Lots of Monopoly games, playing school and Charlie Angels, and too many laughs to count. We all will miss him dearly, but memories of his welcoming smile will always warm my heart. Love and hugs to all of you! Love Jeanna

Vicky, Molly and Shelly, Thinking of you all tonight. Condolences from the Somerville family. JR and I don't have many memories of childhood that don't include the Mullens.... May God comfort each of you during this time. Tom was an incredible newsman, but an even better husband and father...

It was my privilege to work with Tom Mullen for parts of my 32 years at The Gazette. He was by far the best editor - and late r the best publisher - that paper has ever had. He was ethical, thoughtful and decisive. He expected everyone to work up to his standards - and they did! People responded to his leadership in a way I have not seen in any other boss I have ever known. Though he was a private person, his pride in, and love for, his family shone through. He'll be sorely missed by many. We loved that guy! Linda DuVal

He will be so missed by all of you and so many other people. I wish I could be there with you guys at this sad time and sorry that I never made it to Co for a visit. I sure did think about it a lot. Just never made it happen. Love to all of you! Miss you!

Dear Vicky, Shelley and Molly, I was part of Tom's "ink" family and heard him speak of you with love so many times. Tom hired me as a reporter in 1981 and we worked together in many capacities, including when I was Marketing Director and we were in competition with the Sun to be the only daily newspaper in town. He was a mentor, friend and respected colleague. I will hold fond memories of him forever. Warmly, Diane

My boss, Tom Mullen was probably the most principled, patriotic, life affirming man I ever had the privilege to work for. He protected my job many times from staff reductions-in-force and defended my cartoons when many people in the community wanted me fired. Many communities have been blessed by Tom's wisdom and actions, even though they might not have noticed it. The world will miss this man but Heaven is blessed. We have been showered by God's Grace through His servant, Tom Mullen.

Vicky, Molly and Shelly - I am so sorry to hear of your tremendous loss. I am deeply saddened by this news and hope you all gain strength in knowing all of the friends and colleagues Tom touched during his life are thinking of and praying for your family. Tom was more than an amazing father-in-law and father figure to me, and for that, I am truly grateful. He will be forever missed but never forgotten. God bless.
