Obituary of Richard "Dick" Glen Adams
Richard was born in 1927, in New Haven, Indiana to Glen and Hazel Adams. He died at age 90 on Friday, October 20, 2017 in Canyon, Texas. He graduated from New Haven High School, attended Indiana University and was a commercial banker for forty years with the Lincoln National Bank and the Lake City Bank of Warsaw, Indiana, where he retired as Executive Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors. He was very active in local arts and social organizations having serviced as President of the Fort Wayne Fine Arts Foundation (forerunner of the United Arts Council) and served on numerous boards. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Sixth Army Band located in California. He was an avid golfer and thirty-year member of the Fort Wayne Country Club. He also followed sports, especially the IU basketball and the Boston Red Sox.He is survived by his wife, Darla; a son, Larry of Fort; step daughters, Reva Miller of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Tammy Hall of Cortez, Colorado; and brother, Tom of Springfield, Missouri. He is preceded in death by death by sisters, Carol Mehring of Golden, Colorado and Bonnie Rothgeb of Logansport, Indiana.At his request, there will be no funeral service. A private burial will be held at I00F Cemetery in New Haven, Indiana.Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice or The Fort Wayne Museum of Art at 311 East Main Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46802.
