Obituary of Craig Michael Eustice

Craig was born to John and Mildred Eustice on January 3, 1936. Michael Craig Eustice and was always known as Craig. Craig loved God, family and friends. Craig grew up in Minnesota and attended Catholic schools which he spoke fondly of his entire life even keeping in touch with some of the sisters who taught him.Craig had two brothers Dick (Joan) and Dan. In 1955 Craig married Coletta Mary Steinbach, known as Tocky, in Mankato, Minnesota. While in the Army, Craig and Tocky even spent a short time overseas in Germany. They moved back to Minnesota and then on to Grand Junction, Colorado where he was a shoe salesman. Early in their marriage they moved Colorado Springs where he sold kitchen equipment which lead to him becoming a commercial kitchen consultant, helping design many commercial kitchens around Colorado Springs. Craig and Tocky had five children together; Diane, Michelle, Steve, Theresa (Steve), and Angie. They have six grandchildren; Elaina, Samantha, Anthony, Michael, Jordan, and Jason. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly. Craig and Tocky made many friends, especially through the Church and Craig's hobby of golf. As a devoted husband, Craig helped care for his first wife through her health challenges. A few years after her passing, Craig married Marlene Kondrup in 2001. He gained many more extended family members with that union. Marlene's adult children and their spouses include; Joe, Penny, Dennis, JoAnn, Ron, Kristine, Chris and Mary. With Marlene's children came ten more grandchildren; Kenley (Shawn), Jaimee (Shonn), Laura (Adam), Brian, Jaci (Taner), Nick, Maia (Jesse), Cedra (Derek), Justin (Annemarie), and Faith. Also from Craig's marriage to Marlene came sixteen great grandchildren; Aspen, Kyler, Carson, Jayce, Brenden, Parker, Toriana, Cheyenne, Stetson, Kash, Shya, Ryker, Myka, Kit, Roman, and John-Paul. The impact he made as a grandfather to his "instant" grandchildren was profound. He and his new grandchildren (who had lost their grandfather early) became fast friends and had a mutual appreciation for each other. Marlene's children also quickly became fond of Craig and the love he showed Marlene and the family. Craig enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. On almost a weekly basis you could find Craig at either Patty Jewett Golf Course with one of his closest friends, Dick Cranford, or at the YMCA downtown being intentional about taking care of his own physical fitness. He also got a kick out of spending time with Marlene's brothers playing cards and laughing. Craig also did a lot of volunteering for the Church over the years. He also enjoyed his time being part of the Son's of Norway and was enthusiastic of his Norwegian heritage. Craig was a man of integrity and took seriously his role as a Catholic Christian and American citizen. Although we only knew Craig the last sixteen years of his life, we saw a man who wanted to live rightly. We have hundreds of beautiful memories of his warm smile, his interest in others and his love of Christ and His Church. Craig would always have a golf magazine for Justin or would swap books with Joe. He had great advice for Dennis and JoAnn about the design of the kitchen at the restaurant and was interested in all our careers. He always looked forward to their trips to Spokane to visit Ron and Kristine. Craig was also so complementary and kind with all the ladies of our family. A true gentleman. He and Marlene attended countless extra-circular activities for their grandchild and great grandchild from golf tournaments, softball games, Sacramental events, cheerleading, track meets, band concerts, volleyball games, soccer games, graduations, piano recitals, birthday parties, football games, hockey games, basketball games, and the list goes on and on. Craig was a wonderful man of God and loved us deeply and we loved him. We are�so grateful to God that he blessed us with Craig! Thank you Jesus for the holy life of Craig! Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
