Obituary of Nancy Jeanette Simons

Nancy J. Simons, age 67, died unexpectedly on November 10, 2017 at her home in Colorado Springs.��She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.� Nancy Jeanette Raterink was born on September 13, 1950 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Martin and Betty� (Durst) Raterink. She grew up in Comstock Park, Michigan and graduated from Comstock Park High School with the class of 1968.� Early in her life she was a mother and homemaker, then a hairstylist. The family moved to Colorado Springs in 1978 and Nancy worked at the Albertsons on Union and Academy for ten years. �She later worked as the gift shop manager at the Marriott Hotel in Rockrimmon.� Nancy was a collector. �She loved antiques, picking, shopping, and decorating.� She was a gemologist and worked for Luisa Graff Jewelers for a time. She knew fashion, jewelry, and floral arrangements. She will be best remembered for her generosity, and love of her children and grandchildren.She is survived by her sons, Todd (Dominique) Simons of Larkspur, Colorado, and Corey G. (Pamela K.) Simons of Colorado Springs; daughter, Pamela A. (Kevin S. Rogers) Simons of Colorado Springs; brothers; Gary J. (Karen) Raterink� of Middleville, Michigan, and Barry J. (Robin) Raterink of Caledonia, Michigan; sister, Willabell Parr of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and three beautiful grandchildren, Christian, Taylor, and Tristan.
