Obituary of Ronald Myron Grider

Ronald Grider, age 89, a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. He was a long-time resident of the San Luis Obispo area. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.Ronald was born on March 31, 1928 in Oakland, California to the late Ernest and Alice (Rodriguez) Grider-Fiscalini. He grew up as part of the Rodriguez family that had settled the San Luis Obispo area for several generations. He attended Yale University and Columbia University receiving bachelor's and master degrees. He married Martha Helen Riggin on December 18, 1964 in Alamosa, Colorado.During his residency in Colorado, Ronald worked for the Colorado Highway Department and was co-owner of AAA Engineering. He worked as a self-employed real estate appraiser and as a long-time civil engineer for companies including Garing, Taylor & Associates in Arroyo Grande as well as EMK & Associates in Paso Robles. He will be best remembered for his generosity to his family, strong work ethics, ceaseless desire to learn and share his knowledge, and his love for our country.He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Martha Grider; his son, Ronald E.
