Obituary of Michael "Mike" Gerard Ortman

Michael "Mike" Ortman passed away unexpectedly on December 7, 2017 at his home in Colorado Springs. He was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on June 23, 1956 to Leonard and Jeanne (Abbott) Ortman.Mike is remembered by his family as a man of few words, yet he always knew just what to say; soft-spoken (except during Bronco's games), and always willing to help others. �His daughter, Erin, fondly remembers his love for family and the outdoors. �Camping, fishing, playing chess, and working on computers were among his favorite activities. �His many friends and family considered him their personal IT department.He was an active member of Knights of Columbus Council 4636 and St. Dominic Catholic Church. �He belonged to IBEW Local 113, and had retired after many years as an electrician.Mike is survived by his wife of forty years, Christine "Chris" (Bogren) Ortman; his daughter, Erin (Robert) Martinez; father, Leonard Ortman; two brothers, Scott (Regina) Ortman and Leonard (Jenny Jarvis) Ortman; five sisters, Deborah (John) Griffin, Jeanne (Chris) Clendenin, Ann (John) Gibbs, Holly (Rob) Miller, Leslie (Andy) Gilbert; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Jeanne Ortman.Michael "Mike" Ortman passed away unexpectedly on December 7, 2017 at his home in Colorado Springs.
