Obituary of Theresa Ann von Engeln

Theresa Ann von Engeln, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1958, died on December 9, 2017. Her family, friends and pets gave her great joy. Her love touched us all and her laughter and kindness remains in our hearts. Theresa graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School and then attended Loretto Heights College. She received a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Colorado. After receiving an M.E. in Special Eduction from Texas Tech University she pursued an EdD in Administration at North Texas State University. Theresa was a teacher and principal at both the elementary and secondary levels. Upon retirement from Academy School District 20, she supervised student teachers for The Colorado College, was a Site Professor and Instructor at The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and a School Improvement Consultant for the Colorado Department of Education. During her professional career, she was published in educational journals and gave many presentations at national, regional and local educational conferences. Theresa married Dr. Ronald Schillereff in 1969 and they were blessed with one child. She is preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Dr. Sarah Lindsay Schillereff and her dearly loved father, Robert D. von Engeln. She is survived by her adored mother, Margery Lindsay von Engeln of Colorado Springs; beloved siblings, Mark (Robin) von Engeln of Greenwood Village, Colorado, Lise (Timothy) Leigh of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Edi von Engeln of Reno, Nevada; precious nieces, Lauren von Engeln, Shannon (Dr. Alex) Constantinides, Holly (R.D.) Trinidad, and Rachael von Engeln; grandnieces, Maria and June Trinidad; and treasured aunt, Emily Lindsay Bone of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by Sarah's
