Obituary of Tabitha Ann Gaston
Tabitha Ann Gaston, 45, earned her Angel wings on December 12, 2017 at 12:29am peacefully in the arms of her Mom. Tabitha was born on July 3, 1972 at the Sousteberg Airforce Base in Soust, Holland where her Dad was stationed. After Tabitha was born she moved with her parents back to the United States and lived in Danville, California, Redwood Valley, California and Calhan, Colorado. Tabitha was born with arthrogryposis. When some people looked at her they saw her disability and the things she could not do. She could not walk. She could not talk. She could not do many things that a lot of us take for granted every day. But Tabitha was much more than a disability and there were so many things she could do. She could smile and light up a room. She could laugh and get everyone around her to laugh along with her. She could love without condition and she could show her love without ever saying a word. Tabitha will be remembered as a teacher of patience, a teacher of trust, a teacher of strength and determination but mostly, a teacher of unconditional love. She could express her love with a look, a smile or with a laugh. She could communicate her needs by crying or fussing or making a sour face because she knew her family would come and help her.Tabitha lived at home for 45 years. Her Mom and Dad took amazing care of her every day. It is because of their love and dedication that Tabitha was able to stay here with us so long. Tabitha enjoyed camping, fishing, spending the afternoon at the pool or going out in the boat with her family. She loved traveling with her Mom and Dad in their motorhome, watching soap operas with her Mom and cartoons with her nephews. Tabitha loved Christmas and everything about it. The lights, the tree, the music and her family will always remember her Christmas Cry. Every Christmas morning Tabitha had a long, loud cry followed by giggles and smiles the rest of the day.Tabitha had the most beautiful smile and an infectious laugh that brightened the darkest of days. She is going to be missed greatly by those she left behind to join her grandparents in Heaven. She is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Joe and Patsy Paul and Arthur and Janet Gray; as well as her grandparents, Nathan and Virginia Hart and Kenneth and Barbara Gaston. Tabitha is survived by her loving parents, Brian and Judith Gaston of Calhan, Colorado; two brothers, Jeff Gaston of Windsor, California and Brian Edward Gaston of Calhan, Colorado; sister-in-law, Debbie Gaston of Windsor, Colorado; and her sister, Laramie Gaston of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She also leaves behind two nephews and a niece, Nathen Gaston of Windsor, California, Blake Bowin Jr. of Calhan, Colorado and April Bowin of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is survived by her aunts and uncles, Rob and Cindy Hart of Dayton, Nevada, Marilyn and Larry McGraw of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Warren and Clover Douglas of Rodeo, California; and her God-parents, Dan and Nina Goss of Payton, Colorado; as well as many cousins and loving CNA's that have helped care for her throughout her life. Lastly, Tabitha leaves behind her friends, the ones that spent every moment of every day with her, Ozzie and Harriet, her birds. Although the loss of Tabitha is heart breaking, Heaven has gained the best Angel here on Earth. When you think of Tabitha remember her with the words of Christina Rossetti in mind: Miss me a little, but not for too longAnd not with your headed bowed lowRemember the laughs and love that once we sharedMiss me and let me go.
